Abstract

Ownership of property is a controversial issue between capitalism and socialism. It is generally studied in the light of these two economic theories. This article is an attempt to provide an overview of the concept of ownership according to Islamic doctrine, which is different. This article focuses on the modes of losing ownership in the light of Islamic teachings. Muslim jurists’ opinions are expressed in this context as evidence. It is explained that Islam does not give an individual or a society and a state the absolute right of ownership.
