Abstract

‘Ilm Al-Furooq’ is an auxiliary branch of Islamic jurisprudence; which eliminates scholarly doubts, differentiates the concepts and provides the ability to draw the conclusions. To differentiate between things and concepts is the very quality which enables the human society to become Ashraf al-Makhlooqaat; because of the very power and quality the human being recognizes and highlights the supreme position of Allah Almighty. This provides very basis of knowledge and Justice. The classical jurists had mentioned this element primarily; thereafter numerous books were attributed to this knowledge, some of them were even named it as Al-Furooq.

The present study focuses on the brief introduction and history of ‘Ilm-Al-Furooq’. The study is significant for the academicians, Lawyers, religious scholars, policy makers and researchers.
