Abstract

War usually begins at the desire of one or the other party. History informs that
decisions taken during war are of extraordinary significance where it becomes hard
to overlook rewards and losses. When war ends, the captor and the captivated start
reckoning harms and process of reconstruction and rehabilitation begins. War has
been a harsh reality of human societies that cannot be denied. There exist a number
of principles and their application generates better results. If both conflicting
groups have an equivalent potential regarding strength, following these principles
may save them from huge loss. Islam permitted war only in few unavoidable
conditions. Even for those situations, Hazrat Muhammad devised unmatched
humanitarian principles of war based on morals of battle. He not only condemned
collateral damage in word and deed but also defeated a many times stronger enemy
while demonstrating those principles and an exceptional war planning.
