Tafsīr Majidī was published in the epoch when British Government ruled over Sub-Continent. In that time period Christian machineries were purposefully trying to convert people of Sub- Continent specifically Muslims to Christianity. They used to create doubts in the minds of Muslims and make them far from Islamic teachings. During that time, a young man Abdul Majid belonged to “Dryābād” became doubtful about Islamic doctrine and had been in a state of uncertainty for ten years. After 10 years, some religious books and religious figures made him to return to the Islam again. Then he decided to write the Qur’ān's interpretation so that the people like him can turn back to Islam. In his book, he denounced the objections and doubts from ancient religions, the writings of their religious books, the writings of the Jewish and Christian writers, by the investigation and other evidence of the modern era. In this tafsir of the Qur’ān, he criticized liberals and showed the injustice of the orientalists through arguments and solid evidences. He highlighted the greatness of the Qur’ānic words through compatibility and comparison between the Qur’ān and the other heavenly books.
