Imam Ibn Abi Shaybah belongs to the second and third centuries AH. He attained a high position in the science of hadith. He not only taught Hadith but also preserved it in writing for the Ummah in various forms. He also has many distinguishing features in the science of hadith in which he introduced different methods in the art of hadith by adopting a unique method and style unlike the other scholars and his contemporaries. The most notable of these is the confirmation of your authenticity and the narration of the traditions with the highest authority. In his books of hadith, he has adopted a special style of Jarh wa Ta`adeel and has formulated specific terms for this art. Some of his characteristics are such that it has a unique place in the books of hadith and that is to adopt a unique style of composing a permanent book in "Imam Abu Hanafiyyah" which introduced a new dimension in the books of hadith. Secondly, to compile his book “Al-Musnad” in contrast to the Musnads of other narrators. The third is to compile a collection of hadiths consisting of "literature and good morals" which is considered to be the first book in his art. In addition, there are many other differences which are very important in the art of hadith and which are a mirror of the valuable services of Imam Ibn Abi Shaybah in the art of hadith.
