Abstract

پاکستان میں اسقاط حمل ایک غیرقانونی فعل ہے اور جرم کے زمرے میں آتا ہے۔ تعزیرات پاکستان کی دفعہ 338کے تحت اس جرم میں 10سال تک قید کی سزا ہو سکتی ہےلیکن ان سب باتوں کے باوجود اسقاط کا عمل جاری ہے۔ پاکستان میں اگرچہ اسقاط حمل (قانونی ، غیر قانونی ) کا کوئی باقاعدہ ریکارڈ نہیں بنایا جاتا مگر ڈاکٹروں کا کہنا ہے ہر سال تقریباً 8لاکھ50ہزار سے زائد خواتین اسقاط حمل کرواتی ہیں ۔ ان میں سے 76فیصد کے قریب شادی شدہ خواتین اور24فیصد کے قریب غیر شادی شدہ لڑکیاں شامل ہوتی ہیں۔
