Abstract

Allah Almighty has blessed every era with men who 
have protected the religion of Islam through their 
ijtihād and da'wah, defeating false ideologies by 
establishing the legitimacy of Islam on firm grounds. 
Among these blessed individuals are Imām Sha'rānī 
and Shāh Walīullāh, both of whom were eminent, 
intellectual, spiritual, and rejuvenating personalities of 
their time. The main purpose of this article is to 
conduct a comparative study of the views of these two 
personalities from different angles regarding the 
differences in jurisprudence. The paper also aims to 
highlight the rational and moderate position taken by 
these personalities in comparison to other scholars 
when presenting their different opinions.
This analysis will serve as a guide for researchers and 
scholars of this age on how to form differing opinions. 
By taking inspiration from the blessed attitudes of our 
ancestors, researchers can play an important role in 
building a peaceful society.
