In the last days of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)'s life, when he was on his death bed, he wanted to write down a will for the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, but the companions of the Prophet did not provide a paper and pen due to his poor health in which he died. The companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) of the view that he is sick, and the Quran and Sunnah will be enough for the guidance of the Muslim Ummah.
Unfortunately, in the coming history of Islam, it became a controversial issue amongst Muslims. In the Islamic history, this issue is called the "Incident of Qirtas." This article deals with this issue and the writer has evaluated the different viewpoints of Muslim scholars.
