Abstract

Ghrib al-Quran is an important subject pertaining to the Quranic Sciences. Tazkirat al-Areeb is
one of those books which are related to this subject. Its writer Ibn al-Jauzi is an eminent scholar
of sixth century hijra. This book was compiled utilizing the original resources. It explains those
several reasons which cause difficulty in comprehending the meaning of Gharib Words of The
Quran. These words have also been elaborated linguistically and morphologically along with
Causes of Revelation, Abrogation and Variant Readings (Qiraat).Some other distinct features of
Tazkirat al-Areeb become more prominent and conspicuous after comparing it to the Works of
Abu Ubaidah and Makki Qaisi regarding this topic
