Abstract

إن الأعمال الكثيرة والآثار الجليلة التي وفق الله تعالى التهانوي لتحقيقها وإنجازها من التجديد وإصلاح الأمة، وإحياء التراث العلمي للدين، ونشر العلوم الإسلامية، وإعادة الحياة والنشاط والأخلاق الحميدة بين الأمة، تدل على الجهد المعزز بالقوة الروحية الفعالة التي كانت في شخصية هذا المصلح الكبير.

لقد كان الشيخ التهانوي من العلماء البارزين الذين جمعوا بين العلم الشرعي والتصوف، والفكر الإصلاحي، والتدريس، وإفادة الناس من خلال التأليف والوعظ. وكان لديه اتجاه تجديدي يركز على روحانية التصوف مع الالتزام بالأحكام الشرعية والفقهية.

وقد اهتم بمفهوم التصوف وأصلح كثيرًا من الأمور التي خرجت عن أصلها بسبب الغلو في الطرق الصوفية. ولقد كان للشيخ رؤية إصلاحية شاملة، حيث سعى إلى الجمع بين روحانية التصوف وأهداف الإصلاح في مواجهة التحديات الفكرية والاجتماعية لعصره.
