Abstract

Dr, Sir Muhammad Iqbal (1877 to 1938) is a national poet of Pakistan. He is famous in Irān, Turkia and other Muslim Countries also. Iqbal made his poetry, a source for the awakening & revival of Islam in the Muslim Ummah. Quranic verses, Quranic allusions and influences abound in his poetry. His poetry is very influential and popular. He advised the Muslims to pursue education and adopt Islamic values. More than 42 percent poetry of Iqbal is not included in the famous compiled work titled, Kulliyāt e Iqbāl. His remaining poetry, which is compiled and published later under the title of “Bāqiat e Iqbāl” is also very important to understand the poet’s message and narrative. Many researchers have worked on “Bāqiat e Iqbāl”, including Abdullah Qurashi, Sabir Husain Kalori and Dr. Sayed Taqi Abdi. Are there any commonalities or differences between both the “Kulliyāt e Iqbāl” and the “Bāqiat e Iqbāl”? The following article is an attempt to respond to this question.
