Abstract

The Holy Land of Palestine is a unique global nexus where religion, history, geopolitics, and human rights converge. It holds unmatched spiritual significance as the centre of the three major Abrahamic faiths Islam, Judaism, and Christianity making it a focus of religious reverence, pilgrimage, and recurring conflict. Strategically located at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe, and bordering critical sea lanes like the Mediterranean Sea, Suez Canal, and Gulf of Aqaba, Palestine carries immense military, economic, and energy importance. Its rich historical and archaeological heritage makes it one of the world’s oldest continuous civilizations. Politically, the Palestinian question remains one of the most enduring and destabilizing global conflicts, testing the international system’s commitment to justice, self-determination, and the rule of law. Despite its prominence, research gaps remain in integrating Palestine’s religious, cultural, economic, and strategic dimensions into a single analytical framework. This study addresses these gaps by examining historical records, religious texts, geopolitical assessments, and economic resources to provide a holistic understanding of Palestine’s global significance. Findings reveal that Palestine’s spiritual centrality, strategic location, and rich cultural heritage collectively reinforce its global importance. Moreover, ongoing political and humanitarian crises highlight the urgent need for comprehensive international engagement. Understanding Palestine’s multifaceted significance informs global policy, humanitarian initiatives, and conflict resolution strategies. Recognizing its religious, cultural, and economic roles is critical for ensuring equitable solutions and achieving sustainable regional and international stability.
